Our commitment
FendLand wants to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers or keyboard navigation. For this website we aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and our iOS and Android apps are built on the accessibility support the platforms provide. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project.
What we have built in
Steps we have taken on fendland.com:
- Semantic HTML with a clear, ordered heading structure, and a single main heading on each page.
- The page language is declared in the markup so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus outline on interactive elements.
- A “Skip to content” link so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation.
- Descriptive labels on icon-only buttons and controls so assistive technologies can announce them.
- Decorative graphics are marked to be ignored by assistive technologies, so they do not add noise.
- Text alternatives for images that convey information.
- Respect for your device's reduce-motion setting: when it is on, we turn off non-essential animation.
- Attention to color contrast between text and its background.
In the iOS and Android apps
Accessibility work we have done in the mobile apps:
- Buttons, controls, and content are labeled and given roles, so VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android can announce what each element is and what it does.
- The state of a control, such as selected or disabled, is announced to screen readers.
- Purely decorative elements are hidden from assistive technologies so they do not add noise.
- The apps respect your device's Reduce Motion setting and turn off non-essential animation when it is on.
Where we are still improving
We have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, and some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is something we keep working on as the site changes. Where we fall short, we want to know so we can fix it.

If you have difficulty using any part of fendland.com, or you use an assistive technology and something does not work as expected, please email feedback@fendland.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work to resolve it. Accessibility feedback about our iOS and Android apps is welcome at the same address.
