Property owners get texts and calls from wholesalers, investors, and scammers who pull their name and address from data brokers. This is FendLand's running measure of the numbers behind that outreach: how many are flagged, how many hide on internet phone lines, where they cluster, and how they show up in federal complaint records. It updates every month.

Where spam numbers claim to call from
Each light is an area code with numbers that have repeated FTC complaints or a FendLand wholesaler or scam report. One complaint is not enough to put a number on the map. Brighter means more reports. Callers can fake a number, so this shows where spam claims to come from.

Methodology
The index aggregates two sources. The first is FendLand community scans: when someone scans a text they received, our classifier labels it wholesaler, investor, realtor, or scam, and the adverse verdicts (wholesaler and scam) contribute to a number's community flag. The second is the FTC's public Do Not Call complaint database, which tracks consumer complaints about unwanted calls and texts by number.
A number counts as flagged here when FendLand users have flagged it as a wholesaler or scam, or when it carries at least 10 FTC complaints. Line type and carrier come from our cached carrier lookups. Counts are distinct numbers, not messages, and reflect a capped snapshot re-aggregated hourly. The area code map uses the same flagged numbers, placed by each number's own area code, and weights each light by its FTC complaints plus FendLand reports.
FTC complaint data is unverified consumer-reported information, and caller ID is widely spoofed, so a reported number sometimes belongs to someone who never sent the message. Treat these figures as a measure of reported activity, not a verdict on any individual number. No personal information about the people who scanned or complained is used or shown, only aggregate counts.
