What CoreLogic exposes about you
Property ownership records tied to your name, mailing address, and parcel history. These are the records a wholesaler or investor buys to decide which owners are worth cold-texting and calling.
How to opt out of CoreLogic
- 1Open the Cotality privacy portal at cotality.privacyportal.co, or from cotality.com/legal/privacy-policy click Online Privacy Portal. The old CoreLogic privacy link now redirects to a dead page.
- 2Choose a request: opt out of the sale or sharing of your data, and ask for deletion. The opt-out of sale or sharing is the more reliably honored one.
- 3Provide the identity details Cotality needs to match you to its records.
- 4You can also email privacy@cotality.com to make the request or appeal a denial.
- 5Note that Cotality claims FCRA and GLBA exemptions for much of its property and mortgage data, so deletion may be partial.

Is CoreLogic legitimate?

It is a data broker: it buys and compiles property, ownership, and contact records, then licenses them to marketers, lenders, and the skip-trace tools wholesalers use to find owners to call. That is a legal business in the US, which is why your records can be in its database without you ever hearing of it. Opting out is your right and it is free: CoreLogic publishes its own request process, and you do not have to give a reason. Some property and mortgage data may be kept under regulatory exemptions, so a removal can be partial.
Why is CoreLogic showing my information?
CoreLogic builds its file on you from public property and mortgage records, recorded deeds, and commercial marketing data it licenses in bulk, not from anything you handed it. Your name enters its database the moment you appear on a recorded document, which is why it can list you with no signup. You can request removal or suppression for free, though some property and mortgage records may be retained under regulatory exemptions.
