How to opt out of Acres

  1. 01Email support@acres.com or use the Acres contact form. Its privacy policy names both for state privacy rights requests, and Acres also accepts them by mail at 26 W. Center St., Suite 203, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
  2. 02Include your full name as it appears on the deed, the county and state of each parcel, your mailing address, and every phone number and email you want unlinked from your land.
  3. 03Acres says landowners in Connecticut, Oregon, Vermont and similar states may ask it to delete parcel ownership data. Wherever you live, point out that skip-traced phones and emails are not public records.
  4. 04Acres says that if it denies a request, it will explain why within 45 days of receiving it, and that you can appeal the decision by emailing support@acres.com.

THE DURABLE FIX

Acres is one site. You’re on dozens.

The same records that put you on Acres are spread across our full data-broker opt-out list, and that spread is how wholesalers and spammers got your number in the first place. Opting out of one site helps for a while, then Acres re-lists you after its next data refresh. FendLand shows where you are listed, tracks every removal, files the ones that accept an agent, and keeps re-checking because they come back.

Questions

Is Acres legitimate?

Yes. Acres is a real company, not a scam. It is a skip-tracing and lead tool that real-estate wholesalers and investors pay for to attach a phone number to a property owner, then text or call them. Selling that data is a legal business in the US, which is why your number can be in it without you ever signing up. Opting out is your right and it is free: you can ask Acres to suppress your information, and you do not have to give a reason. The texts you get come from its users, not from Acres itself, so blocking one sender does not remove you from the tool.

Why is Acres showing my information?

Acres shows your details because one of its paying users looked up a property tied to you, and it matched your name to a phone number pulled from upstream data brokers. It is a lead tool for investors and wholesalers, so your number is there to be found, not because you signed up. You can ask it to suppress your data for free, but it re-traces from those upstream sources, so a listing can come back.

Will removing myself from Acres stop the "we buy your house or land" texts?

It helps, but wholesalers can still reach you through the people-search and data-broker sources Acres pulls from, so the durable fix is scrubbing those too and re-checking on a schedule, not once. FendLand tracks every removal, files the ones that accept an agent, and re-checks on a schedule.
