How to opt out of Free People Directory
- 01On freepeopledirectory.com, search your first and last name with your state, then your city, and open every listing that is you. Match on the street address and age shown, since common names list many people.
- 02Open your listing and copy its web address from the address bar. It looks like freepeopledirectory.com/person/Your-Name/City-ST/p123, and every listing has its own address.
- 03Paste that address into the opt-out form and submit it. The form asks only for the listing address, with no captcha and no account.
- 04Repeat for every listing under your name, including ones at a previous address. Each listing is removed on its own, so removing one does not remove the others.

THE DURABLE FIX
Free People Directory is one site. You’re on dozens.
The same records that put you on Free People Directory are spread across our full data-broker opt-out list, and that spread is how wholesalers and spammers got your number in the first place. Opting out of one site helps for a while, then Free People Directory re-lists you after its next data refresh. FendLand shows where you are listed, tracks every removal, files the ones that accept an agent, and keeps re-checking because they come back.
See who else lists you, freeSee which of the biggest sites list you right now, no account needed. Then file your removals free, or let Shield Pro send them for you:
Questions
Is Free People Directory legitimate?
Yes. Free People Directory is a real company, not a scam. It is a people-search data broker: it compiles public records, marketing data, and social profiles into a page on you and shows or sells it to anyone who searches your name, including wholesalers and skip-tracers. Compiling public-record data is a legal business in the US, which is why it can list you without asking first. Opting out is your right and it is free: Free People Directory publishes its own removal process, and you do not have to give a reason.
Why is Free People Directory showing my information?
You never gave Free People Directory anything. It scrapes and buys public records (county property and voter files, court and marriage records), marketing databases, and social profiles, then links them into one page under your name and publishes it automatically. You show up the moment those records mention you, which is why it can appear without warning. Compiling public-record data this way is legal in the US, and that same law is why you have the right to opt out for free.
Will removing myself from Free People Directory stop the "we buy your house or land" texts?
It helps, but Free People Directory is one of many people-search sites, and it re-lists you after each data refresh, so the durable fix is opting out everywhere and re-checking on a schedule, not once. FendLand tracks every removal, files the ones that accept an agent, and re-checks on a schedule.
