How to opt out of Epsilon

1For the fastest result, also use Epsilon's own form. Go to the Epsilon Data Subject Request portal.
2Select your country: United States
3Under Request Type, select Do not sell my Personal Information. The form takes one request per submission, so to also opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, or to have your data deleted, submit it again with Do not share my Personal Information or Delete my Personal Information
4In the I am a... dropdown, select Consumer
5Enter your full name, mailing address, and email address
6Complete the CAPTCHA and submit
7Click the verification link in the confirmation email from Epsilon if one is sent
8Allow up to 30 days. Phone fallback: 1-866-267-3861. Note: legal.epsilon.com/optout is a cookie-only advertising opt-out and does NOT remove you from Epsilon's mailing list database, use this form (/dsr) for actual database suppression.

Is Epsilon legitimate?

Yes. Epsilon is a real company, not a scam. It is a data broker: it buys and compiles property, ownership, and contact records, then licenses them to marketers, lenders, and the skip-trace tools wholesalers use to find owners to call. That is a legal business in the US, which is why your records can be in its database without you ever hearing of it. Opting out is your right and it is free: Epsilon publishes its own request process, and you do not have to give a reason. Some property and mortgage data may be kept under regulatory exemptions, so a removal can be partial.

Why is Epsilon showing my information?

Epsilon builds its file on you from public property and mortgage records, recorded deeds, and commercial marketing data it licenses in bulk, not from anything you handed it. Your name enters its database the moment you appear on a recorded document, which is why it can list you with no signup. You can request removal or suppression for free, though some property and mortgage records may be retained under regulatory exemptions.

Will removing myself from Epsilon stop the "we buy your house or land" texts?
